Dharma
Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Sarmi Programs
Dharma Wanita
Persatuan (DWP) Sarmi implements programs divided into three main areas: Education
& Empowerment, Social & Health, and Family Economy.
These programs are designed to be general in nature and can be applied by all
DWP units across various institutions and regions. The primary focus is to
empower members and improve family welfare, in line with DWP’s mission to
strengthen the role of women in supporting national development.
Education & Empowerment
This area focuses on
enhancing the quality of DWP members through education, training, and personal
development activities. The programs aim to improve knowledge, skills, and
insights so members become more empowered within their families and communities.
Key programs include:
- Training and Courses: Organizing courses, seminars, and
workshops in various fields (such as technology, languages, leadership,
and household skills) to strengthen members’ competencies and confidence.
- Scholarships and Educational Support: Providing scholarships or financial aid
for the children of members with outstanding achievements, to ensure wider
access to education and encourage the younger generation to pursue higher
education.
- Early Childhood Education Management: Establishing and managing early childhood
education facilities, such as DWP-kindergartens and preschools (PAUD).
Programs include teacher capacity building and curriculum development to
ensure high-quality education for children.
- Literacy and Reading Culture: Promoting a reading culture and access to
knowledge by establishing libraries or reading corners for members and
families, as well as holding book clubs and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Social & Health
This area aims to
improve family well-being and social awareness through community-oriented and
health-related activities. Programs emphasize empathy, mutual support, and
healthy living. Initiatives include:
- Social Services and Charity: Conducting activities such as social
services, fundraising, donations for underprivileged families, visits to
orphanages and nursing homes, as well as providing relief for disaster
victims.
- Health Campaigns and Counseling: Delivering health education for members
and the community, including topics on balanced family nutrition, stunting
prevention, maternal and child health, and hygiene practices.
- Family Health Services: Supporting access to primary and
preventive health services through partnerships with local health
facilities and community health posts (Posyandu), such as regular
check-ups, immunizations, blood donations, and reproductive health
counseling.
- Clean and Healthy Environment: Promoting environmental awareness through
campaigns on waste management, tree planting, recycling, and maintaining
clean and green surroundings to support family and community health.
Family Economy
This area focuses on
strengthening financial independence and improving family welfare. Programs are
designed to empower women to contribute to household income and economic
resilience. Key initiatives include:
- Entrepreneurship Training: Providing training and mentoring on
small-scale businesses, ranging from home-based culinary products and
handicrafts to using digital platforms for marketing.
- Microenterprise and Cooperative
Development: Encouraging
the establishment of cooperatives and collective businesses to market
members’ products, including organizing bazaars, product exhibitions, and
affordable markets to support family income.
- Financial Literacy and Household
Budgeting: Educating
members on financial management, including saving, simple investments, and
family budgeting, to build financially resilient households.
- Business Assistance and Access to Capital: Facilitating small-scale financing and
partnerships to support members’ micro, small, and medium enterprises
(MSMEs). This includes providing consultation, mentoring, and sustainable
business development.
Through these three
program areas, Dharma Wanita Persatuan seeks to comprehensively empower its
members. Education & Empowerment enhances knowledge and personal capacity,
Social & Health fosters empathy and healthier families, and Family Economy builds
financial resilience. Together, these initiatives reflect DWP’s vision to play
an active role in educating, supporting health, and promoting the welfare of
civil servant families and Indonesian society as a whole.
